أظهرت دراسة أعدتها شركة الاستشارات العالمية “ديلويت” أن بطولة كأس العالم 2026 خلفت عائدات اقتصادية بلغت 2.543 مليار دولار في المكسيك، وهو ما يعادل 0.12 في المائة من الناتج الداخلي الإجمالي، رغم أن هذه الحصيلة جاءت أقل بنسبة 7 في المائة من التوقعات الأولية.
وأوضحت الدراسة، التي تمحورت حول الأثر الاقتصادي للمونديال، أن البطولة أسهمت في خلق أكثر من 100 ألف فرصة عمل مؤقتة، غير أن العدد ظل أقل بنحو 10 في المائة من التقديرات السابقة، في ظل تدفق سياحي دولي دون المستوى المتوقع.
وأرجعت الدراسة الأثر الاقتصادي الإيجابي أساسا إلى ارتفاع الاستهلاك المحلي، لاسيما مع وصول المنتخب المكسيكي إلى الدور الخامس من المنافسة، وهو ما عزز الإنفاق على المنتجات والخدمات المرتبطة بالبطولة.
وأضافت أن عدد الزوار بلغ 494 ألف شخص، منهم 198 ألف سائح أجنبي و296 ألف زائر محلي، مقابل توقعات باستقبال 836 ألف سائح، معتبرة أن ارتفاع أسعار التذاكر أسهم في الحد من الإقبال الدولي.
وسجلت العاصمة مكسيكو أكبر أثر اقتصادي بين المدن المستضيفة، بعائدات بلغت 548 مليون دولار، تلتها ولايتا خاليسكو ونويفو ليون بـ290 مليون دولار و270 مليون دولار على التوالي، فيما تصدر قطاعا المطاعم وتجارة التجزئة قائمة القطاعات الأكثر استفادة من الحدث الرياضي العالمي.
