أعلن المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تيدروس أدهانوم غيبرييسوس أن الهيئة أرسلت إلى بيروت أول قافلة برية من الإمدادات الطبية، انطلاقا من منصتها اللوجستية العالمية للطوارئ في دبي.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام محلية عن تيدروس تأكيده، في منشور على منصة “إكس”، أن الوكالة الأممية أرسلت 22 طنا من الأدوية المنقذة للحياة ومستلزمات معالجة الإصابات وحالات الطوارئ.
ولفت إلى أن هذه الكميات ستسمح بتوفير الرعاية لـ 50 ألف مريض، بما في ذلك لـ40 ألف عملية جراحية.
وقال تيدروس إنها أول قافلة برية يتم إرسالها عبر دول عدة انطلاقا من المنصة اللوجستية العالمية لمنظمة الصحة العالمية في دبي.
ويواجه القطاع الصحي في لبنان منذ الثاني من مارس الجاري ضغطا كبيرا بسبب النزوح الواسع واستهداف المرافق الطبية بغارات جوية إسرائيلية، مما أدى إلى خروج عدد من المستشفيات عن الخدمة وتسجيل نقص حاد في الأدوية و المستلزمات الطبية.
