وافق صندوق النقد الدولي مؤخرا على صرف فوري لمبلغ 10,8 مليون دولار لصالح غامبيا، في أعقاب المراجعة الثانية لبرنامج التسهيل الائتماني الموسع المبرم مع البلاد.
وأوضح الصندوق، في بلاغ له، أن الاقتصاد الغامبي يظهر مؤشرات إيجابية على الانتعاش، حيث من المزمع أن يسجل نمو الناتج المحلي الإجمالي الحقيقي نسبة 5,8 بالمائة خلال عام 2024.
ويعزى هذا الأداء، بالخصوص، إلى عودة السياح إلى مستويات تقترب من فترة ما قبل الجائحة وقوة التحويلات المالية من الجالية الغامبية في الخارج.
ويرفع هذا المبلغ الجديد إجمالي المبلغ المصروف إلى 32,4 مليون دولار، بموجب هذه الاتفاقية التي تنص على حزمة إجمالية تبلغ نحو 97,3 مليون دولار، تمت الموافقة عليها في يناير 2024.
وحسب المصدر نفسه، قال نائب المدير العام لصندوق النقد الدولي، بو لي، إن “الانتعاش الاقتصادي يتعزز في غامبيا، بينما يواصل التضخم منحى انخفاضه”.
ومع ذلك، أشار صندوق النقد الدولي إلى أن تنفيذ البرنامج أسفر عن نتائج متباينة، موضحا أنه رغم الالتزام بمعظم معايير الأداء الكمي، إلا أنه س جل تأخير في تنفيذ الإصلاحات الهيكلية.
وكشف أيضا أن النفقات المرتبطة بالقمة الـ 15 لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي، التي انعقدت في ماي الماضي، والدعم الطارئ للشركة الوطنية الغامبية للماء والكهرباء، قد أثقلا كاهل التوازن المالي.
ويتوقع صندوق النقد الدولي أن تحقق غامبيا نموا بنسبة 5,9 بالمائة عام 2025، ثم حوالي 5 بالمائة على المدى المتوسط، محذرا من مخاطر قد تنجم عن النزاعات العالمية وصدمات أسعار المواد الأولية، وتقلبات قطاعي السياحة والتحويلات المالية.
