توفي الجنرال المتقاعد الحسين مزريد، بمقر إقامته بمدينة مكناس، بعد مسيرة حافلة بالعطاء والتضحية في صفوف القوات المسلحة الملكية، وهو الذي قائد معركة بئر انزران.
ويعتبر الراحل إبن منطقة ايموزار مرموشة وبالضبط قبيلة ايت بن عيسى .و قد قام الملك الراحل الحسن الثاني في شتنبر 1979 بتوشيح الجنرال مزرد بوسام نجمة الحرب بالقصر الملكي إفران كمكافأة له على ما قام به من تضحيات جسام ونجاحه في معركة بئرانزران.
وبتوزيع أوسمة و ترقيات لكل أفراد القوات المسلحة الملكية المشاركين في المعركة وكذلك الشهداء و تمكن الكوموندو مزرد حينها من الحصول على رتبة (ليوتنون كولونيل). و قد انهى سنوات خدمته بالقوات المسلحة الملكية برتبة جنرال دو بريكاد.
و يعتبر من الرجال الذين يفخر المغرب بهم لما قدموه للوطن و العرش من خدمات جليلة لعلها تفتح يوما ما في الإعلام العمومي لتنمية روح الانتماء و الفخر لوطن أعطا أسماءا كبيرة مثل الغجدامي والعابدي و العلام و أمزيرد واسماء ابطال كثيرة.
