رحب الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس، اليوم الخميس، بإعلان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، التوصل إلى اتفاق يقضي بوقف الحرب على قطاع غزة، وفق ما نقلت عنه وكالة الأنباء الفلسطنية (وفا).
وأعرب عباس عن أمله بأن “تكون هذه الجهود مقدمة للوصول إلى حل سياسي دائم كما أعلن الرئيس ترامب، يؤدي إلى إنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لأرض دولة فلسطين، وتجسيد الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة على حدود الرابع من يونيو عام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية”.
وأشاد الرئيس الفلسطيني “بالجهود الكبيرة التي بذلها الرئيس ترمب وجميع الوسطاء مصر وقطر وتركيا والولايات المتحدة للتوصل إلى هذا الاتفاق في مرحلته الأولى”، مؤكدا استعداد دولة فلسطين للعمل مع الوسطاء والشركاء المعنيين لإنجاح هذه الجهود واستكمال المفاوضات في مراحلها التالية، من أجل تحقيق الاستقرار والسلام الدائم والعادل وفق الشرعية الدولية.
وشدد على ضرورة “التزام جميع الأطراف بالتنفيذ الفوري للاتفاق والإفراج عن جميع الرهائن والأسرى، وإدخال المساعدات الإنسانية العاجلة عبر منظمات الأمم المتحدة، وضمان عدم التهجير أو الضم، والبدء بعملية إعادة الإعمار”.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترامب، قد أعلن مساء الأربعاء، عن موافقة إسرائيل وحركة (حماس) على المرحلة الأولى من خطته للسلام في غزة.
