ذكر بلاغ للجنة الوطنية للتربية والعلوم والثقافة “أن مدينة الصويرة انضمت بدورها إلى الشبكة العالمية للمدن الإبداعية لليونيسكو، وذلك بعد قبول ملف ترشيحها “.
وحسب بلاغ اللجنة فقد تم “مواكبة مدينة الصويرة في جميع مراحل ملف ترشيحها قصد مطابقته مع المعايير المطلوبة، حيث انكبت مجهودات من أجل تأهيله (الملف) للمشاركة في عمليتي الانتقاء والتقييم التي تخضع لها المدن المرشح من لدن لجنة دولة يتم تشكيلها لهذا الغرض” .
يذكر أن المغرب انضم لأول مرة للشبكة التي تهدف إلى تشجيع الابتكار والصناعات الثقافية، سنة 2017 بعد اختيار مدينة تطوان كمدينة ابداعية في مجالي الصناعة التقليدية والفنون الشعبية .
