أقر الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (الفيفا)، خلال جمعيته العمومية الـ74 التي انعقدت اليوم الجمعة في بانكوك (التايلاند)، تعديلا يمنع انتقال أي لاعب من أي بلد ليس عضوا في الأمم المتحدة.
واتخذ هذا القرار بموافقة أغلبية ساحقة بلغت 202 صوت مقابل 4 أصوات، خلال هذا الاجتماع الذي تمت خلاله المصادقة على مجموعة من التعديلات المقترحة من قبل مجلس الاتحاد الدولي للتشريعات (IFAB) بخصوص انتقالات اللاعبين.
وكانت الكونفدرالية الإفريقية لكرة القدم قد قررت بالإجماع، خلال جمعها العام العادي والانتخابي الـ43 المنعقد في 13 مارس 2021 بالرباط، عدم الاعتراف بأي دولة ليست عضوا في الأمم المتحدة.
ويتم قبول عضوية ممثلي الدول المستقلة والأعضاء بالأمم المتحدة فقط داخل الكونفدرالية الإفريقية لكرة القدم.
