جددت الغابون، التي تتولى رئاسة مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة خلال أكتوبر الجاري، اليوم الخميس بنيويورك، دعمها لمبادرة الحكم الذاتي المغربية لإنهاء النزاع الإقليمي حول الصحراء.
وقال السفير الممثل الدائم للغابون لدى الأمم المتحدة، ميشيل كزافيي بيانغ، عقب التصويت على القرار رقم 2654، إن تصويت بلاده لصالح تمديد ولاية بعثة المينورسو “يعكس بالخصوص دعمنا للمبادرة المغربية للحكم الذاتي”.
وأبرز أن المبادرة المغربية للحكم الذاتي بالصحراء “تقدم آفاقا ذات مصداقية ومطمئنة لا تمكن فقط من إنهاء المأزق الحالي بل تتيح أيضا التوصل إلى حل سياسي مقبول لدى الجميع”.
وقرر مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، الخميس، تمديد ولاية بعثة المينورسو لمدة عام، مع تأكيده، مرة أخرى، على سمو المبادرة المغربية للحكم الذاتي لتسوية النزاع الإقليمي حول الصحراء المغربية.
وأكد السفير الغابوني “نحن مقتنعون بأن هذا القرار سيمكن من دعم جهود ستافان دي ميستورا، المبعوث الشخصي للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى الصحراء، في أفق إحياء العملية السياسية بين مختلف الأطراف المعنية”.
