ارتفع عدد حالات الإصابة بالكوليرا الم بلغ عنها حول العالم في عام 2024، وفق ما كشفه تقرير لمنظمة الصحة العالمية.
وأظهر تقرير المنظمة ارتفاع حالات الكوليرا الم بل غ عنها بنسبة 5 في المائة، وارتفاع حالات الوفاة بنسبة 50 في المائة في عام 2024 مقارنة بعام 2023، حيث ت وفي أكثر من 6 آلاف شخص بسبب المرض الذي ي مكن الوقاية منه وعلاجه.
وبي ن التقرير مدى تأثير الصراعات وتغير المناخ ونزوح السكان والعجز طويل الأمد في البنية الأساسية للمياه والصرف الصحي والنظافة الصحية، في ارتفاع معدلات الكوليرا.
وأبلغت المنظمة عن تسجيل حالات في 60 دولة خلال عام 2024، بزيادة عن 45 دولة في عام 2023، وظل عبء المرض م رك ز ا في إفريقيا والشرق الأوسط وآسيا، التي شك لت مجتمعة 98 في المائة من جميع الحالات الم بل غ عنها.
وقالت المنظمة إن نطاق تفشي الكوليرا استمر في الزيادة خلال عام 2024، حيث أبلغت 12 دولة عن أكثر من 10 آلاف حالة إصابة في كل منها، وشهدت 7 منها تفش يات واسعة النطاق لأول مرة هذا العام.
وارتفع معدل الوفيات في إفريقيا من 1,4 في المائة في عام 2023 إلى 1,9 في المائة في عام 2024، مما يكشف عن فجوات حرجة في تقديم الرعاية المنقذة للحياة، وعن هشاشة العديد من النظم الصحية، إلى جانب التحديات في الوصول إلى الخدمات الصحية الأساسية.
