أعلنت الأمانة العامة للاتحاد الخليجي لكرة القدم، عن تأجيل موعد انطلاق منافسات دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية برسم الموسم الرياضي 2025 – 2026 إلى 30 شتنبر المقبل، بدلا من الموعد المقرر سابقا في 16 من نفس الشهر.
وأوضح الاتحاد، على موقعه الرسمي، أن هذا القرار يأتي استجابة لطلب الشركة الراعية للبطولة، نظرا لضيق الوقت المتاح لإتمام التحضيرات والترتيبات التنظيمية والتقنية اللازمة، لضمان توفير أفضل الظروف لانطلاقة المنافسات بما يليق بمكانتها، وذلك بعد الموافقة الرسمية على التأجيل من قبل لجنة المسابقات.
وأكد الاتحاد الخليجي سعيه لتقديم نسخة استثنائية للمنافسة، بالنظر إلى أنها تحظى بمتابعة جماهيرية واسعة، وحرصه على توفير كافة مقومات النجاح التقني والتنظيمي لهذه التظاهرة الكروية.
يذكر أن قرعة هذه المنافسة الكروية أسفرت عن توزيع الفرق المشاركة على مجموعتين، تضم المجموعة الأولى أندية زاخو والعين وسترة والقادسية، فيما تشمل المجموعة الثانية كلا من الريان والشباب والنهضة وتضامن حضرموت.
