أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترامب، امس السبت، أنه سيلتقي الرئيس الأوكراني، فولوديمير زيلينسكي، في البيت الأبيض يوم الاثنين المقبل، لبحث إمكانية التوصل إلى اتفاق “يضع حدا للحرب” بين روسيا وأوكرانيا.
يأتي إعلان الرئيس ترامب عن هذا اللقاء عبر منصته (تروث سوشال)، غداة اللقاء الذي جمعه بالرئيس الروسي، فلاديمير بوتين، في ألاسكا.
وأشار الرئيس الأمريكي إلى أن الاجتماع الذي عقده مع بوتين سار “بشكل جيد”، مضيفا أنه أجرى مكالمات هاتفية في وقت متأخر من الليل مع زيلينسكي وقادة أوروبيين آخرين، من بينهم الأمين العام لحلف شمال الأطلسي، مارك روته.
وأكد أنه تم الاتفاق على أن أفضل سبيل لإنهاء الحرب بين روسيا وأوكرانيا يكمن في التوصل إلى اتفاق سلام مباشر، “وليس مجرد اتفاق لوقف إطلاق نار لا يصمد في كثير من الأحيان”.
وأضاف ترامب: “في حال سارت الأمور بشكل جيد، فسنرتب بعد ذلك لقاء مع الرئيس بوتين”.
وكان قاطن البيت الأبيض أعلن، الجمعة، عن إحراز “تقدم كبير” عقب القمة التي عقدها في ألاسكا مع نظيره الروسي.
