جرى، أمس الجمعة بروما، إعادة انتخاب المملكة المغربية عضوا في مجلس منظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة (الفاو)، لولاية جديدة تمتد من فاتح يوليوز 2026 إلى غاية اختتام الدورة السادسة والأربعين لمؤتمر المنظمة الأممية، المقررة في سنة 2029.
وجرى انتخاب المغرب، ممثلا في شخص السفير الممثل الدائم للمملكة لدى الوكالات الأممية بروما، يوسف بلا، خلال الدورة الرابعة والأربعين لمؤتمر “الفاو”، المنعقدة بالعاصمة الإيطالية في الفترة ما بين 28 يونيو و4 يوليوز الجاري.
ويعد المغرب من بين 12 دولة تمثل القارة الإفريقية داخل مجلس المنظمة، منذ 30 يونيو 2023.
وكان من المقرر أن تنتهي ولاية المملكة الحالية في 30 يونيو 2026، غير أن تجديد ثقة الدول الأعضاء الإفريقية مكن المغرب من الحصول على ولاية جديدة، في اعتراف واضح بالتزامه المتواصل بقضايا الأمن الغذائي، والتنمية الفلاحية المستدامة، وتعزيز التعاون جنوب-جنوب داخل القارة الإفريقية.
ويعتبر المجلس، الذي يتألف من 49 عضوا، الهيئة التنفيذية لمؤتمر “الفاو”، ويتولى مهمة السهر على تنفيذ أنشطة المنظمة بين دورات المؤتمر العامة.
