أعلنت منظمة الصحة العالمية، أمس السبت، عن ارتفاع حالات الإصابة بفيروس “كوفيد-19” مجددا، نتيجة ظهور المتحور الجديد “NB.1.8.1″، الذي تخضع خصائصه حاليا للرصد والدراسة.
وأوضحت المنظمة، في بيان صادر عن مكتبها الإقليمي لشرق المتوسط، أن المتحور الجديد لا يشكل خطرا صحيا إضافيا مقارنة بالمتحورات السابقة، لكنها حذرت من استمرار تطور الفيروس.
وأشارت الى أن غياب التدابير الوقائية السريعة قد يؤدي إلى موجات جديدة من الإصابات، مؤكدة أن الزيادة الحالية في الحالات تتماشى مع النشاط الموسمي للفيروس، مماثلة للفترة ذاتها من العام الماضي.
وحثت المنظمة الأفراد على الالتزام بالإجراءات الوقائية، مبرزة أن اللقاحات الحالية لا تزال فعالة ضد المتحور الجديد، وتلعب دورا رئيسيا في الوقاية من الأعراض الحادة والوفيات.
ودعت منظمة الصحة العالمية الدول إلى دمج مكافحة “كوفيد-19” ضمن استراتيجيات الأمراض التنفسية الموسمية، وتعزيز التواصل مع المجتمعات لمواجهة المعلومات المضللة، وتمكين الأفراد من اتخاذ قرارات صحية مستنيرة.
