تنفيذا لقرار صاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس، نصره الله، بإعادة فتح سفارة المملكة المغربية بدمشق، توجهت بعثة تقنية من وزارة الشؤون الخارجية والتعاون الإفريقي والمغاربة المقيمين بالخارج إلى العاصمة السورية، من أجل استكمال الإجراءات العملية المرتبطة بإعادة فتح هذه السفارة.
وفي هذا الإطار، باشر الوفد المغربي محادثات مع مسؤولين كبار بوزارة الخارجية والمغتربين السورية، همت الجوانب اللوجيستية والقانونية والدبلوماسية لهذه العملية.
وتندرج هذه المباحثات في إطار تفعيل التعليمات الملكية السامية الرامية إلى إحياء العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين البلدين الشقيقين.
وكان صاحب الجلالة الملك محمد السادس قد أعلن في الخطاب السامي الذي وجهه جلالته إلى القمة العربية الرابعة والثلاثين المنعقدة يوم 17 ماي ببغداد، عن قرار إعادة فتح سفارة المملكة المغربية بدمشق، المغلقة منذ 2012.
وأكد جلالة الملك أن هذا الإجراء “سيساهم في فتح آفاق أوسع للعلاقات الثنائية التاريخية بين بلدينا وشعبينا الشقيقين”.
