قرر مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة، تمديد ولاية بعثة المينورسو لمدة عام، مجددا تكريس سمو المبادرة المغربية للحكم الذاتي من أجل طي النزاع الإقليمي حول الصحراء المغربية.
وجاء في نص القرار رقم 2703، الذي صاغته الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، أن مجلس الأمن “قرر تمديد ولاية بعثة المينورسو إلى غاية 31 أكتوبر 2024”.
وتم تبني القرار بتصويت 13 دولة لصالحه، في مقابل امتناع اثنتين عن التصويت.
من جهة أخرى جددت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تأييدها لمخطط الحكم الذاتي كحل واقعي للملف.
كما عبرت فرنسا عن دعمها التاريخي والثابت للحكم الذاتي، مشيرة في شخص ممثلها إلى أن الوقت قد حان للإنطلاق بهذا المشروع نحو التفعيل.
