تم بالرباط، انتخاب رئيس مجلس المستشارين، النعم ميارة، بالإجماع، رئيسا جديدا لبرلمان البحر الأبيض المتوسط للفترة 2023-2024.
وجرى انتخاب ميارة الذي يخلف في هذا المنصب، بيدرو روك (البرتغال)، على هامش أشغال الدورة العامة السابعة عشرة للجمعية العامة لبرلمان البحر الأبيض المتوسط التي استضافها البرلمان المغربي على مدى يومين.
وفي كلمة عقب انتخابه على رأس هذه المنظمة البرلمانية، قال ميارة إن برنامج عمل المنظمة للمرحلة المقبلة سيتمحور حول “تعزيز القيم المشتركة لدول حوض المتوسط كنتاج لتلاقح الحضارات والثقافات وتعايش الديانات عبر مختلف الأزمة، وقيم الحرية والديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان”؛ و”ترسيخ العمل المهيكل الذي أرسته برلماناتنا وتحقيق التراكم، وذلك من منطلق دعم كل المبادرات الرامية إلى تحقيق مسعى تقوية التعاون أمام تعاظم التحديات التي تواجهنا”، وكذا “تكثيف التنسيق والتشاور البين-برلماني”، و”تعزيز تبادل الرؤى والخبرات والتجارب بشأن مختلف القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك”.
