تنظم يوميا بالمركز الاستشفائي الجامعي الحسن الثاني بفاس جلسات للتربية الصحية لمساعدة الأشخاص المصابين بأمراض مزمنة، من قبيل السكري، على تعايش أمثل مع المرض.
وخلال هذه الجلسات، يقدم المريض لمهنيي الصحة معطيات حول طبيعة ونوع مرض السكري الذي يعاني منه والعلاج المعتمد وتجربته مع الصيام قبل أن يتم اجراء تقييم يحدد التعقيدات والمخاطر المحتملة المرتبطة بالصوم.
وتجري كل حصة في إطار مجموعات تتوزع على عدة ورشات تتناول تقييم الحالات واحصائيات الخطر والمراقبة الذاتية والتربية الغذائية والنشاط البدني والنوم وغيرها.
وحسب تصريح أدلت به البروفيسور حياة أيناو، لوكالة المغرب العربي للأنباء، إن الصوم مفيد للصحة الجسدية والروحية لكن قد تترتب عنه انعكاسات سلبية على الصحة لدى بعض الأشخاص، خصوصا المصابين بالسكري مضيفة أن الأطباء ينصحون عموما مرضاهم بالإفطار لكن بعضهم يتمسك بأداء هذه الفريضة.
وأوضحت أن المصابين بالسكري يواجهون بعض المخاطر مما يستدعي استشارة الطبيب المعالج شهرين قبل حلول رمضان قصد تحديد دقيق للحالة واعتماد نظام تغذية سليم لمواكبة المريض في صيامه.
وعبر عدد من مرضى السكري الذين استفادوا من هذه الجلسات التوعوية عن تنويههم بالارشادات المفيدة التي تمكنهم من التعايش مع المرض وتصحيح بعض الأخطاء في نظامهم الغذائي.
