قال محمد عبد النباوي الوكيل العام للملك، رئيس النيابة العامة، إن جائحة “كوفيد 19” شكلت امتحانا صعباً لمؤسسات العدالة في المملكة على غرار الكثير من القطاعات الأخرى التي تأثرت بها سلبيا، مشيرا إلى أن سنة 2020 كادت أن تكون سنة بيضاء بالنسبة للمحاكم، التي اضطرت في فترة الحجر الصحي إلى توقيف أغلب أنشطتها، حماية للمتقاضين ولمهنيي العدالة.
واعتبر الوكيل العام للملك أن العدالة لم تسلم من التأثيرات السلبية لجائحة كوفيد المستجد خلال السنة المنصرمة، حيث حرم المواطنون لعدة أشهر من العديد من الخدمات القضائية التي لم يتيسر قضاؤها عن بعد، قبل أن تعود المحاكم إلى فتح أبوابها بشكل تدريجي ابتداء من شهر شتنبر، في إطار صارم من التمسك بالقواعد الحمائية المقررة.
وأوضح عبد النباوي، خلال افتتاح السنة القضائية 2021، أن المحكوم زاد عن المسجل بـ22 بالمائة، مشيرا إلى أن ظروف الجائحة أدت إلى انخفاض عدد القضايا المسجلة من 51 ألف و591 في سنة 2019 إلى 31 ألف و448 قضية، أي بنسبة انخفاض توازي 38 في المائة، ومضيفا أن عدد القضايا المحكومة بلغ 40 ألف و561 قضية، أي بنسبة انخفاض 12 في المائة.
وأفاد بأن المحاكم سجلت خلال سنة 2020 مليونين و738 ألف و107 قضية جديدة، بانخفاض يوازي 10.83 في المائة عن سنة 2019، كما تمكنت من إصدار أحكام في مليونين و600 ألف و240 قضية وهو رقم يقل عن سنة 2019 بـ16 في المائة، مشيرا إلى أن نسبة المحكوم بالنسبة للقضايا المسجلة ناهزت 95 في المائة، أي ناقص 6 نقط فقط عن سنة 2019 التي عرفت نسبة أحكام تجاوزت 101 في المائة من المسجل.
